Advances in Planar Lipid Bilayers And Liposomes Volume 3 of the series Advances in Planar Lipid Bilayers light reaction of photosynthesis and Liposomes presents recent research on BLMs (Bilayer Lipid Membranes) based on a historic perspective of the lipid bilayer concept light reaction of photosynthesis and its experimental realization. Many of the contributing authors were in close collaboration with late Prof. H. Ti Tien, the funding editor of this book series, on the use of supported BLMs for biosensors light reaction of photosynthesis and molecular devices development. Today, after four decades of research light reaction of photosynthesis and development, BLMs (also referred to nowadays as planar lipid bilayers), along with liposomes, have become established disciplines in certain areas of membrane biophysics light reaction of photosynthesis and cell biology light reaction of photosynthesis and in biotechnology. Planar BLMs can now be formed on various substrates with long-term stability, thereby opening the way for basic research light reaction of photosynthesis and developments work in biotechnology. As of today, black lipid membranes (BLMs or planar lipid bilayers) have been used in a number of applications ranging from fundamental membrane biophysics including photosynthesis, practical AIDS research, light reaction of photosynthesis and `microchips` study. In reactions involving light, BLMs have provided insights to the conversion of solar energy via water photolysis, light reaction of photosynthesis and to photobiology comprising apoptosis light reaction of photosynthesis and photodynamic therapy. Volume 3 continues to include invited chapters on a broad range of topics, ranging from theoretical research to specific studies light reaction of photosynthesis and experimental methods, but also refers to practical applications in many areas.
